"women don't have equal rights in most religions"?

Too many people saying "religion treats women like crap" and "women don't have equal rights in most religions". No matter what race,religion,ethnicity, I see a great deal of women being left alone to raise a child or children. I see others with guys who cheat on them constantly,etc...Can you honestly say women and men are treated the same as men in non religous societys? Back when these so called "barbaric Abrahamic religions" began women were truly in danger of "barbarians" and therfore women had a larger need for protection(traveling with male relative,etc..). In your opinion what societys treat women the way they deserve?
